Always play long

The momentary satisfaction of meeting a need in the short term is fickle. It’s the wait to get a salary at the end of the month or the urge to gratify yourself with pleasure that won’t last.

If you have your mind on the short term, you’ll miss out on a lot, literally. You’ll accept things for which you could have gotten more.

One’s outlook on life should always feel like a marathon, and not a collection of sprints.
