No matter where you go, people typically operate under two forms of culture. There’s the hierarchical, top-to-bottom culture that typically functions by a chain of command. Hierarchical cultures administer and exact compliance within their frames.
The other culture is the flat, network culture which functions by an interaction of nodes. Networks transmit codes within their frames, which make them spread.
These two cultures are responsible for why many companies, countries and communities either feel like organizations or organisms. When the culture is hierarchical, you’re part of an organization but when it’s flat, you’re part of an organism.
