The five-whys

If you’ve dealt with children of any age, you probably know the ‘five-whys’ system.

Invented by Sakichi Toyoda as part of the Toyota production system, the five-whys is a process of iterative inquiry used to find and solve root problems. This process entails asking ‘why’ questions five times to get to the root cause of a problem.
