Complaints are gifts

If you want to improve as a person, honest feedback is something to treasure.

However, you have to be deliberate about receiving feedback from your audience, lover, customers and coworkers.

One effective way to receive feedback is through complaints. Complaints are so effective because they are made in combative situations and largely unfiltered by a need to please. When people complain, they still care about you and your ability to improve.

Such moments are not times to focus on bruised egos. Receiving complaints well is like taking bitter medicine. The patient doesn’t want it but he or she needs it to get well.

In the end, you need these situations in which people around you can be comfortable enough to complain about your output because complaints are gifts.
