A lot of times people who do not chase after their dreams are the men and women who can’t stand to take a punch in the face. And yes, I mean this literally.
If you are going to do something amazing with your life, you’ve got to learn how to take the ‘punches’ life throws at you and keep pushing ahead.
People who cannot take punches are the ones who over-calculate a decision or over-analyze a market opportunity and just talk, never taking action, leading lives of quiet desperation.
You cannot afford to be like them. You have got to write that screenplay, build that business, ask that person to be your friend or spouse and stop being a coward.
Shakespeare writes an incredible line in Caesar that reads, “Cowards die many times before their deaths…”
Being a coward is really about pride. It’s about trusting yourself so much that you don’t trust your God-given dream enough to carry you through into glory.
So the next time you get an idea or an opportunity, don’t think or talk yourself out of it. Rather, ask yourself, “Can you take a punch in the face?” And if the answer is no, then don’t waste your time or money.
