One of the reasons, we tell ourselves, we are not where we ought to be in our lives, careers and relationships is that someone, somewhere, didn’t choose us. We tell ourselves we weren’t good enough to get past the gatekeepers then, and we aren’t good enough now.
This self-loathing doesn’t come from a good place at all but from years and years of conditioning by the school system, industry pundits and social expectations that limit human agency.
Well, scratch it. It’s time you embodied the idea that you are an ocean of abilities and nothing can stand in the path of an ocean. Tell yourself, “I am the one to build this business, write this book or own this property.” Tell yourself, “I am the one…”
If nobody has yet chosen you, don’t let it deter you. Choose yourself.
