A union, not a partnership

The global consensus on marriage is that it is a partnership.

A partnership is an arrangement of two or more parties with a common goal or purpose.

But a marriage is not a partnership. It is a union. The entwining of two souls into one.

It may seem like semantics but think for a minute. There aren’t two people in a marriage, just one.

It may not be very post modernist to think this way but we learnt to look at a spouse like an inseparable organ, maybe it to revolutionize the choices we make about who we marry.
